At Newtown Garage we conduct onsite Mots, the Mot is a legal requirement for all vehicles over 3 years old, with the purpose of making sure that your car meets the minimum safety requirements. Without a valid MOT, your car insurance and road tax become invalidated and your car may not be road worthy. Therefore it’s important that you make sure your MOT certificate is in date and you book your next MOT before your current certificate expires.
Newtown Garage can service vehicles still under the manufacturer’s warranty (Manufacturer’s warranty is unaffected). All servicing is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer service schedules. For vehicles without a paper service book we are able to access the manufacturers Online Service Records. This allows us to check on service history and more importantly record your new service. This ensures that any warranty requirements are met and helps to maximize resale value.

Does your car have a timing belt or a timing chain..and when does it need replacing ? Timing chains originally would last the life of the vehicle but in today’s engines, things look different. Chains dont have a replacement interval specified by the manufacturer, but they often need replacing early due to the weak chain being elongated. The Timing belt is more durable and has specified interval replacements set by the manufacturer. It’s very important you replace your Timing chain or Timing Belt when it’s due for changing.
Wheel refurbishment makes corroded, pitted and curbed wheels look like new. We can have your alloy wheels refurbished, straightened and have most cracks welded. Finishes include having a painted and diamond cut finish or both. We supply and fit most brands of Tyres at competitive prices, we also offer Wheel balancing and tyre puncture repair services. We can also fit and programme tyre pressure monitoring sensors. Wheel Alignment (also known as tracking) is very important for a vehicle and the advantages of correct wheel alignment are: reduced tyre wear and to ensure that the vehicle travel is straight and true (without “pulling” to one side).
